Young Women:

Sage Browne has been chosen as the LWML-NED Young Woman Representative to the LWML Convention in Portland, Oregon, June 25-28, 2009. She is a member of the Lutheran Church of The Savior, Bedford, Mass. where she has been worshipping all her life.

Sage has been active in the LWML in her church for a few years and has also attended one of the district gatherings. She enjoys being a part of the mission projects and giving mites. Last year, she gave a presentation to the women's group in her church after a mission trip to South Africa. She has also been a very active leader in the church's Vacation Bible School program for many years, a regular volunteer at the Central Food Ministry, Lowell, Mass., a participant in a variety of short-term mission trips through the church, and is currently serving as the church council secretary. As special strengths, she feels God has given her compassion for others, a gentle spirit, the gift of organization, and the gift of creativity with teaching.

When asked how she "serves the Lord with gladness" in her life, Sage replied... "For me, it starts with conforming my mind to that of Christ's. Then it is easier to recognize the opportunities He presents.  It is a joy to be God's hands and feet in the world bringing glory to Him in every circumstance." Sage expressed her interest in seeing and learning more about mission projects that LWML supports and gaining ideas from other women regarding activities they have done by attending the national LWML convention. "I've heard that it is an exciting and uplifting event," she said.

Congratulations, Sage! We all look forward to seeing you at future LWML gatherings!
